The Catholic Education Unit of Ghana has issued a letter dated October 25, 2023, addressed to all Regional Managers, informing them about the upcoming observance of All Saints Day on November 1, 2023.

All Saints Day is a longstanding tradition in the Catholic Church and is considered a Holy Day of Obligation that must be observed by all Catholic schools in Ghana. The observance includes the celebration of Holy Mass on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, and is recognized as a Catholic holiday.

The letter, signed by Araba Ahima Bentum, the General Manager/Director of the Catholic Education Unit, was sent to various recipients, including Principals of Catholic Colleges of Education, Local Managers, Heads of Catholic Senior High Schools/Senior High Technical Schools, Heads of Catholic Basic Schools, and Education Committee Chairpersons. The purpose of the letter is to inform all Catholic schools in Ghana to observe the solemnity of All Saints Day on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

As a longstanding practice of the Church, November 1st of every year is designated as All Saints Day, which is considered a Holy Day of Obligation and must be observed accordingly. Therefore, all Catholic schools in Ghana are required to observe Wednesday, November 1, 2023, as a Catholic holiday after the celebration of Holy Mass.
