In a devastating incident on Monday, October 30, a security guard at a Total fuel station in Suhum, Eastern region, was shot dead by armed robbers. The attack took place around 6:43 p.m. while it was raining, with the five robbers approaching the fuel station on foot.

Upon entering the mart, the robbers confronted the security guard, Kwasi Agbeti, also known as Killer, and started assaulting him with sticks. In an attempt to find shelter away from the mart, Agbeti was shot at close range by the assailants.

Furthermore, the robbers targeted the fuel station supervisor, shooting him in his office and stealing an undisclosed sum of money. They also assaulted a tanker driver who had just arrived to unload fuel, taking his mobile phone and GH¢1000.

Agbeti was swiftly transported to the hospital in a customer’s vehicle, but unfortunately, he passed away upon arrival. The supervisor is currently receiving medical treatment at the Eastern Regional Hospital.

This incident marks the third robbery within the vicinity of Suhum in the past two weeks. Police and personnel from the National Investigation Bureau have commenced investigations at the scene.

In an interview with Citi News, Dansoa Margaret, the sister of Agbeti, appealed to the Inspector General of Police to ensure justice is served to her grieving family.
