Supporters of Odododiodio NPP parliamentary aspirants clash during vetting

On Tuesday, November 14, 2023, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) conducted the vetting of Nii Lantey Bannerman and Mannaf Sowah, two contenders aspiring to become the party’s parliamentary candidate for the Odododiodio constituency in the Greater Accra Region.

The vetting process took place at the NPP’s newly established Greater Accra Regional Office in Teshie, in preparation for the party’s upcoming primaries in orphan constituencies scheduled for December 2, 2023.

However, supporters of the aspirants were involved in clashes at the regional office premises, although the exact reasons for the chaos remain unknown.

To restore order, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the General Secretary of the NPP, intervened and urged the supporters to maintain peace and avoid any further disruptions.

He cautioned that any misconduct would result in the disqualification of both candidates and even the possibility of arrest.

Following the vetting, a balloting process was conducted, with Bannerman securing the first slot and Mannaf Sowah picking the second slot.
