General Eligibility Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in environmental science or a related discipline, with at least 3 years of post-master’s qualification experience in a role comparable to Senior Environmental Health Analyst in a public service institution.

Deputy Director of Public Engagement

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitating interactions between Parliament and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)/think tanks on significant national issues by organizing meetings involving the Speaker of Parliament, Members of Parliament, the Clerk to Parliament, and parliamentary committees with CSOs/think tanks.
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive database of CSOs/think tanks operating in Ghana, categorizing them by areas of focus and aligning them with the relevant parliamentary committee clusters.
  • Promoting information exchange between Parliament and CSOs/think tanks, which includes providing approved parliamentary information to CSOs/think tanks upon request and sharing research findings from these organizations with MPs and committees to enhance their activities and address inquiries from CSOs/think tanks.
  • Organizing capacity-building initiatives, such as workshops and seminars, to educate CSOs/think tanks on parliamentary operations and fostering collaborative events between Parliament and these organizations.
  • Coordinating and supporting the implementation of Open Government Partnership (OGP) and Open Parliament initiatives.
  • Providing technical assistance to the OGP caucus in Parliament and the Open Parliament Steering Committee, and overseeing the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Open Parliament Action Plan.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promoting the institute’s activities internally and externally, including building partnerships with think tanks, educational institutions, similar parliamentary training institutes, and MDAs.

  • A postgraduate qualification such as an MPhil or equivalent in legislative studies, humanities, social sciences, or a related field from a recognized university, with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant post-MPhil work experience; OR
  • A PhD in a relevant subject area with at least 10 years of post-doctoral work experience.
