Twenty-four Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools have successfully advanced to the finals of the “STEMNNOVATION” competition, focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

The finals, scheduled for November 14 to November 15, 2023, will take place in Accra, where participating schools will showcase their innovative projects in urban gardening, clean water, and flexible electricity usage.

The competition received a total of 249 applications, with 116 schools initially selected for the regional competition. From there, 24 schools emerged as finalists for the grand finale.

Ms. Afra Sika Mensah, Deputy Coordinator at the Free Senior High School Secretariat, emphasized the uniqueness of this year’s edition, providing students with a platform to showcase their talents and creativity.

Cash prizes, computers, accessories, and souvenirs from event sponsors will be awarded to the winner and other deserving participants.

STEMNNOVATION is an annual inter-school competition specifically tailored for SHS and TVET schools. Its primary objective is to encourage students to design STEM projects that address societal challenges, with the aim of promoting innovation and problem-solving skills.
