The Ghana High Commission in South Africa has confirmed a robbery at The Church of Pentecost branch in Johannesburg. The incident occurred during a live church service on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
According to the High Commission’s statement, armed individuals entered the church and robbed the congregation, seizing their valuables. Additionally, a church deacon was taken into custody by the suspected robbers, and his current whereabouts are unknown.
The High Commission has called for calm among citizens and assured the public that they are collaborating with the police to ensure the safe and prompt release of the victim back to his family.
The South African police are actively engaged in the case and working diligently for the safe return of the Ghanaian citizen.
